LATEST NEWS

ARDLEIGH SURGERY JOINS THE COLTE PARTNERSHIP - 1st June 2017
The practice has entered into a superpartnership with 10 other local practices to form 'The Colte Partnership'.  Please be assured that as a patient you will not notice any changes in that you are still registered with Ardleigh Surgery and the doctors and nurses at the surgery will be remaining here.

GP EARNINGS - March 2017
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (eg average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Ardleigh Surgery in the last financial year was £52,320 before tax and national insurance.  This is for 3 full time GPs and 2 part time GPs.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

CQC REPORT PUBLISHED
The CQC report for Ardleigh Surgery has been published and is available on their website.  Alternatively, please click on the CQC inspection page on our website to see the report.  The surgery was rated GOOD.

NEW MEMBERS OF STAFF - 11th January 2017
This month we welcome two new members of staff.  Carmen Duke has joined us as a member of the dispensary team and this will enable us to streamline our prescription line.  Some of you will know Carmen, who used to work at Dedham Pharmacy.

Nikki Read has joined us as a receptionist.  She lives locally and previously worked in another practice in North East Essex.

Pauline Wilson, who has been a receptionist here for some years, has moved into the vacant secretarial role.  Pauline used to work as a PA in London some years ago, so is returning to her roots!

We are sure that you will make our new members of staff welcome and be patient with them whilst they are training.

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR OPENING HOURS
The surgery will be open as usual on every day with the exception of the Bank Holidays, 26th and 27th December and 2nd January, when we will be closed.  As you are aware, when the surgery is closed, you should ring 111 (free call) for advice.

NEW PARTNER FROM 1ST DECEMBER 2016
The practice is delighted to announce that Dr Robert Lenart, who has been a salaried GP at the practice for a number of years, has now become a partner in the practice.

CHANGE OF DOCTORS
Dr Emily Foster will be leaving the practice during November.  Although she has enjoyed her time at Ardleigh, she has decided that her future is elsewhere.  Dr Rebecca Thompson will be joining the practice in December and will be working 3 days a week here and one day a week at St Helena Hospice in Colchester.  Dr Owens will be returning for 4 weeks between Dr Foster leaving and Dr Thompson becoming established at the practice.

TUESDAY 1ST NOVEMBER 2016
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be inspecting the practice on 1st November.  If you wish to speak to an inspector, please contact the surgery, or complete on of the form stating your views.  Alternatively, go on to the CQC website and leave a comment about the surgery.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 19TH 2016
There will be a North East Essex wide training afternoon for general practices on Wednesday 19th October from 1230pm.  Please note that all practices will be shut on that afternoon, including our surgery.  During this time, please call 111 for advice.

OCTOBER 2016
We are now about half way through our flu vaccination programme for both adults and children.  During the first flu clinic we also held a Macmillan Coffee afternoon.  You will be delighted to know that this was a great success, enjoyed by all and raised a magnificent £537.00.

Our CQC inspection did not take place as below because the CQC did not have the manpower available on the day.  They will be arranging another day soon - so you can still comment on the link below!
