The surgery run clinics daily 8:30am to 6:10pm offering a variety of health care professionals both face to face and on the telephone. Please read through the following so that you can book your appointment with the most appropriate health care professional.
Doctor clinics
Complex medical problems and review of the same, sick notes, medicals, prescription services, post- natal mother and baby checks, minor surgery (excision of skin lesions, joint injections), children’s mental health problem.
Advance nurse practitioner (ANP) clinics
Complex medical problems and review of the same, prescription services.
Nurse clinics
Monitoring long term conditions, diabetic, asthma and copd review, smear test, travel advice, some of our nurses do prescription services, wound dressing, contraception and sexual health , child hood immunisation.
Phlebotomy / blood-taking clinics
Please see below the days and times of our phlebotomy clinics:
- Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 12:30pm
The courier to Ipswich hospital collect the blood test no later that 2pm daily. Therefore blood test cannot be done usually later than 2:50pm.
Please note that these appointments are for blood tests and are run by Health Care Assistants who are not trained to deal with medical problems and cannot hold medical consultations.
You are able to book an appointment for a blood test at the Primary Care Centre Blood clinic. To book online go to www.swiftqueue.co.uk/colchesterpcc.php. If you book an appointment, please contact Ardleigh Surgery and ask them to print off your blood form so you can take it to the appointment with you.

Children’s blood test are done at the surgery subject to compliance. Children may be referred to the hospital clinic.
Healthcare assistant clinics
Phlebotomy, senior health checks, NHS health checks, ECG taking, wound dressing, blood pressure checks.
Pharmacist clinics
Medication review, medication queries for about about side effects and drug interactions.
Physiotherapy clinics
Muscle and joint pains, diagnosis, management including ordering of x-rays.
Mental health practitioner clinics
Everything to do with mental health and low mood, this is for adults only.
Care advisor clinics
For help with benefit applications, applying for care packages, dealing with health and social services red tape.
Extended access clinics
These clinics happen on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 2pm. They are staffed by a doctor, an ANP, nurses, physiotherapist and health care assistants and they provide all of the above services. Appointments can be booked for both telephone and face to face services. The location of the clinics are in other Colte partnership branches in Tiptree, Wivenhoe, Brightlingsea, Rowhedge and Riverside. You will be told where the clinic is at the time of booking.
