About Us
Ardleigh is a large village approximately 3 miles north of the historic Roman town of Colchester and adjacent to Dedham Vale and ‘Constable Country’, a beautiful stretch of countryside which straddles the Essex / Suffolk border. The branch surgery is situated in the pretty village of Dedham, 2 miles further north.
The practice area extends over a predominantly rural part of north Essex and as well as Ardleigh includes the parishes of Langham, Dedham, Stratford St Mary, Manningtree, Mistley, Lawford, Great and Little Bromley and parts of Bradfield.
There has been a practice in Ardleigh since 1901.The current building dates from 1974 but was extended in 1991 and again in 2007 to accommodate the growing practice. From 2009 we provide services from our branch surgery in Dedham. The practice cares for a patient list of around 7,500 patients.
We are a training practice, training both general practitioners and nursing students. Drs Cole and Outtridge are the GP trainer and Sister Wallington and Healey are the Nurse trainers.
The Ardleigh Surgery is a dispensing we have a well stocked dispensary with qualified dispensing staff who can help you with your medication needs.
In 2017, the partners in Ardleigh surgery merged their partnership with the partners of 8 other GP surgeries in Tendring and Colchester region to form a Super-partnership called the COLTE partnership. The Ardleigh Surgery has since then been a branch surgery of the COLTE partnership and our patients can access services across all the branches of the partnership.
